 The career of the Mexican tenor Oscar de la Torre has led him to perform on some of the most prestigious stages in the world, such as: Vienna, Linz, Salzburg, Zurich, Verona, Rome, Bologna, Cagliari, Munich, Frankfurt, Dresden, Cologne, Stuttgart, Nuremberg, Bremen, Heidelberg, Darmstadt, Dessau, Wiesbaden, Dortmund, Edinburgh, Zagreb, Bratislava, Sofia, Aarhus, Vejle, Aalborg, Vatican State, New York,  South America, Mexico.

Recently in 2025 he made his successful debut at the iconic Gewandhaus concert hall in Leipzig and has invitations to sing soon at the Kulturpalast of the Dresdner Philharmoniker; at the Isarphilharmonie in Munich; in the main hall of the Teatro del Palacio de Bellas Artes (Teatro Nacional de México); concerts celebrating the 200th. Johann Strauss's anniversary in Frankfurt with the Johann Strauss Orchestra; he will perform the role of Alfredo in G. Verdi's La Traviata in Germany; recording of his next record production on CD, among others.

Óscar de la Torre is currently one of the most sought-after tenors in the world, performing Carl Orff's Carmina Burana.

Oscar de la Torre was recently honored and awarded the title "Doctor Honoris Causa" by the International Conference of the University Community, for his outstanding international career as Tenor Soloist, in Mexico City, in November 2024.

In December 2024, in Frankfurt, Germany, the Mexican tenor Oscar de la Torre was awarded the National Award "Distinguished Mexican 2024" in the category of Culture and Art, by the SRE- Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Mexico and the IME- Institute of Mexicans Abroad, through the Consulate of Mexico in Frankfurt del Main,  for his outstanding career as a Tenor Soloist in the international arena, for being an ambassador of culture and for exalting the name of Mexico, performing Carmina Burana on the stages of the world.

He received the "Mexican Revolution 2024 Award" from the International Conference of the University Community, for his social commitment, efforts and contributions to Mexico and abroad.

He was decorated in 2024, with the medal of merit for social justice "Roberto Villaseñor Medal", by the International Conference of the University Community, in Mexico City.

Tenor Oscar de la Torre was also a finalist and winner of the "Vienna NYIOP International Opera Audition 2010". He sang at the Grand Finale held at the Theater an der Wien, in Austria and won invitations to make his debut in the Great Golden Hall of the Musikverein, in Vienna and at the Münchner Philharmonie, in Munich, Germany, alongside Star Sopran Edita Gruberova and conducted by Marco Armiliato.

He was also a finalist and winner of the "Super Audizione New Opera Ischia" in Ischia, Italy.

He also won the "Opera de Bellas Artes" prize at the Carlo Morel National Singing Competition  and "Lunas del Auditorio 2010" Classic Award with "Carmina Burana Monumental Production".

He was the recipient of the most important artistic-cultural scholarship in Mexico "Scenic Creators with Trajectory" 2008-2011 awarded by FONCA (National Fund for Culture and the Arts).

In 2013 his CD recording of the Opera "La Muette de Portici" by D.F. Auber was listed as the best Opera CD recording in Europe.

In 2016 the Production La Cenerentola by G. Rossini, of the Bicentennial Theater was nominated for the "Lunas del Auditorio Classic Award", in which he played the leading role for tenor, Prince Ramiro.

Oscar de la Torre received recognition from the Consulate of Mexico in Frankfurt am Main, as "Mexican Leader in Germany-Mexicans who inspire 2019", for his celebration of his 100. Carmina Burana as Tenor Soloist, endorsed and accompanied by the Carl Orff Foundation, held at the Residence of the Kings of Bavaria in München, Germany.

The Mexican tenor Oscar de la Torre was one of the three tenors invited to sing at the Tribute Concert of the famous tenor Luciano Pavarotti, held in the city of Munich, Germany.

Oscar de la Torre's musical preparation has allowed him to perform the world premiere of 16 contemporary works and operas, and to cover a wide and cultivated repertoire, also placing himself as a recitalist in the world of baroque music, Lied and oratorio.

He completed master courses with the International Hugo Wolf Akademie with K.S. Prof. Peter Schreier at the Staatlichen Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende kunst Stuttgart (State Conservatory of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart, Germany). He obtained the certificate of the "Diploma in Lyrical Art" from SIVAM and a year later, he was again selected by SIVAM to belong to the "Specialization Program for Young Talents", studying with teachers from the Metropolitan Opera House in New York such as Joan Dornemann, Nico Castel, Denise Massé, James Demster and Teresa Rodríguez among others. He also completed Master-courses with K.S. Giacomo Aragall, Montserrat Caballé, K.S. Eva Randova, William Matteuzzi, K.S. Prof. Thomas Thomaschke, Zeger Vandersteene, Susan Young, Rogelio Riojas, Saverio Suárez, Agnese Sartori and has taken Masterclasses with K.S. Prof. Francisco Araiza, Klaus Wallprecht, Danusa Luknisova, Elda Laro, Miguel Gomez, Rafael Ortiz among others.
He began his musical studies at the Faculty of Music of the UNAM and the Bachelor's Degree in Opera and Concert Singing at the National Conservatory of Music with Nicolás Rico, Guadalupe Campos, Enrique Jaso and Erika Kubacseck.

His next engagements: Concert at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, concert at the Kulturpalast of the Dresdner Philharmoniker Orchester, Concert at the Teatro del Palacio de Bellas Artes (National Theater of México); concerts with the Czech Sinfoniker Orchester in Frankfurt, will perform the role Alfredo from La Traviata in Germany, concert at the Köln Philharmonic, in Köln, Germany; tour with Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana" as tenor soloist in Bremen, Stuttgart, Nürnberg, Frankfurt, München; Concerts of the "Misa Criolla" by Ariel Ramírez in Bayern, Germany; opera galas at festivals in Germany; "Stabat mater" by G. Rossini, "Mozart's Requiem" within the framework of the Festival Internazionale di Musica e Arte sacra, in Rome and the Vatican;  concerts with the Johann Strauss Orchestra, concerts with the Frankfurt Symphony Orchestra, concerts in Mexico.

Oscar de la Torre is currently preparing his next CD album.

Mexican tenor Oscar de la Torre continues to make his way in Europe, consolidating his ascendant career and is currently receiving coaching and preparation of Italian repertoire with Paola Mariotti (Luciano Pavarotti's last pianist) in Pesaro, Italy.



Mr. de la Torre also received good reviews in the press. The renowned Süddeutsche Zeitung wrote about him: "....
